Responsible gambling
Betting carries real risk. This page sets out how we try to keep that in proportion, and where to get help if it stops being in proportion.

Only stake what you can afford to lose
Everything on this site is measured in points rather than pounds. A point is a unit of stake, and what it is worth is entirely up to you.
Whatever you decide it is worth, it should be an amount you could lose without it affecting your rent, your bills, or your household. If a losing week would hurt, the number is too high.
Losing runs are normal, not a malfunction
Every published record on this site includes losing bets and losing months, because they are an ordinary part of betting rather than an exception to it.
A run of losers does not mean something has gone wrong, and it does not mean a win is due. Each match is its own event.
Chasing losses
Increasing your stake to win back a loss is the most common way a bad run turns into a serious one. It feels like taking control and it is the opposite.
This is why staking on the site is advised in fixed points rather than scaled to recent results. If you find yourself staking more than usual specifically because you are down, stop for the day.
Signs worth taking seriously
- betting more than you planned, or more often than you planned
- betting with money set aside for something else
- hiding how much you bet from people close to you
- feeling you need to bet to feel normal, or feeling anxious when you cannot
- borrowing to bet, or selling things to bet
- betting to escape stress, low mood, or boredom rather than for enjoyment
If you recognise several of these, it is worth talking to someone about it. That is not a dramatic step, and the services below deal with this every day.
Tools that actually help
- Deposit and loss limits. Every licensed UK operator offers them. Setting one while you are calm protects you later.
- Time-outs. A short break of a day to six weeks, available from most operators.
- Self-exclusion. Blocks your account for a fixed period, and it cannot be reversed on a whim, which is the point.
- GAMSTOP. One free registration self-excludes you from every online operator licensed in Great Britain at once. gamstop.co.uk
- Blocking software. Gamban and similar tools block gambling sites across your devices.
- Bank blocks. Most UK banks can block gambling transactions on your card, usually in the app.
Where to get support
- BeGambleAware offers free, confidential advice and runs the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133, open 24 hours. begambleaware.org
- GamCare provides free counselling and support groups. gamcare.org.uk
- Gamblers Anonymous runs peer support meetings across the UK. gamblersanonymous.org.uk
- GamFam supports families and friends affected by someone else's gambling. gamfam.org.uk
If you want us to close your account
Email info@furlonglab.com and we will close it, with no questions and no attempt to talk you out of it. If you have paid for a period you have not used, we will refund the unused part.
If you have self-excluded through GAMSTOP or any other scheme, tell us and we will close your account rather than let it lapse quietly.
18 or over only
This site is for adults. Nothing published here is designed to appeal to anyone under 18, and we close any account we find belongs to someone under 18.
